Writing For Outcomes

Great writing is about disciplined planning, writing, and re-writing – and the artful arrangement of words. This seminar covers the writing process, the science of creating resonance with your audience, and the rules to live by when honing a substantive style that delivers results.

In the Writing For Outcomes Seminar, Michelle McDermott, managing partner at CRA’s Strategic Communication Practice will lead a developmental discussion across six areas:

  • Writing for Outcome Rather than Output
  • The Tone Is the Message: Striking the Right One
  • Using Linguistic Frames to Strengthen Resonance
  • The Sound of Style: Rules to Live By, Those to Bend, and Jargon to Avoid
  • Finding the Voice of Senior Leaders
  • Navigating Reviews and Approvals

CRA Partners and Managing Directors with a minimum of 10 years advisory experience in Fortune 50 organizations lead each Seminar, and Seminars will typically include a variety of other CRA staff and clients who lend texture to the discussion. The agenda spans one and one-half days, with the content intentionally limited to six discussions – the goal is to engage a smaller number of more meaningful issues with depth. While individual Seminars can vary, a typical agenda is:

  • 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Content sessions with catered lunch
  • 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Break
  • 7:00 p.m. | Group dinner

Friday, July 19
